Whenever I do a demonstration abroad, or invite a guest in my hotel room, I always display some "Ikebana".
Here is Hydrangea and Smilax China I displayed in my hotel room in Taipei. I have placed some white and gold paper cranes near the flowers.
Exhibitions in New York and in Paris , I have arranged Ikebana using the flowers of the place I happened to be.
Different from the gorgeousness of western flowers, Japanese Ikebana has a particular quietness in its nature.
The flowers are placed most of the time unsymmetrically. Flower positions are chosen so they make an unbalanced triangle.
With Ikebana, we can experience a world like a shot taken from a landscape.
In order to introduce Japanese culture to the world, together with my perfumes, I put all my heart in creating this quiet space.
Ikebana is one kind of such "hospitality".
