-The journey to Mizunara-
Three years ago, I went to a bar called "Mizunara Cask" for the first time.
I was fascinated by the bar as soon as I stepped inside. The smell of wood filled the room, the bar counter was made of five-hundred-year old Mongolian oak, and I experienced a variety of whiskey scents. That made me interested in whiskey.
As I was researching about whiskey, I learned that an aged whiskey in a Mongolian oak barrel has the two scents of Sandalwood and Kyara (higest grade in Agarwood) .
Parfum Satori is particular about its made in Japan ethos, thus I believed that those scents, which are used in Kodo, are ideal materials for our brand.
I thought of a lot of raw materials such as balsam, castoreum, and amber when I was tasting many kinds of whiskeys.
I left the bar and then sat down at the perfumery organ in my atelier. I went through a continuous process of trial and error. Finally, I got malt core base accord.
Before long, I was interested in Mongolian oak trees themselves, I learned that they grow on high mountains. Then I had this scenery in my mind; a lake, the shores of which are surrounded by Mongolian oaks on a plateau. That completed Mizunara, the new line of Parfum Satori.
Mizunara is the fragrance suitable for men, it evokes the image of the mellow aroma of the whiskey barrel carried on a soft breeze, gently caressing the green leaves.
