We reduce gold and silver plates into powder and put it on the object to be decorated, equally used sometime on Japanese colored papers (colored washi).
This technique is used in Japan for a long time to decorate religious documents, paintings or calligraphy pieces, as well as on partition walls of old Japanese houses.
